Healthy Weight
Obesity not only contributes to diabetes and high cholesterol, but has also been associated with some common cancers, including hormone-dependent tumors such as prostate, breast, and ovarian cancer.
If you are overweight and would benefit from a medically supervised weight loss program, Saint Joseph's offers Weigh to Go!, an 8-week group education program lead by registered dietitians, registered nurses, medical psychologist and exercise physiologist. This program is coordinated by the Cardiac Prevention Department at Saint Joseph's Hospital and is offered to the community, regardless of physician or hospital affiliation. Cost for the eight week class is $160.
